Social Media and Content Specialist - Melbourne Hybrid

Lifely is hiring a Social Media and Content Specialist to create content for its ecommerce furniture and home-product brands. The role leads shoots, publishing, performance reporting, and creative testing across multiple brands.

Description

  • Plan and oversee social content for multiple Lifely brands across Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube.
  • Develop social-first concepts, scripts, copy, carousels, graphics, short-form videos, and platform-ready edits.
  • Keep the content calendar ahead of schedule, publish consistently, manage communities, and address content gaps with practical solutions.
  • Manage photoshoots from initial mood boards through styling, props, products, briefs, talent and location scouting, budget tracking, on-set coordination, feedback, and final asset delivery.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports that explain performance, identify insights, and recommend actions or tests.
  • Apply audience data, trend research, competitor activity, and AI tools to strengthen concepts, briefs, workflows, and content output.
  • Coordinate with Product and Operations on samples, inventory, and arrival dates, and work with agencies, creators, and partner brands on delivery.
  • Review every post for brand alignment, spelling, grammar, formatting, claims, and platform requirements.
  • Set up content calendars, production trackers, reporting routines, ownership, and deadlines.
  • Maintain the required publishing cadence and deliver approved content and production milestones on time.
  • Raise content quality, organic engagement, and social traffic through ongoing testing and iteration.

Requirements

  • At least three years of hands-on experience in social media and content production, preferably in ecommerce, consumer, home, lifestyle, or retail.
  • A portfolio demonstrating strong short-form video, social copy, visual content, and campaign execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead shoots and coordinate agencies, creators, talent, locations, products, budgets, and deadlines.
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and brand judgement.
  • Ability to interpret performance data and turn findings into practical recommendations.
  • Reliable project ownership, a sense of urgency, clear communication, and proactive problem-solving.
  • Practical experience with AI tools, supported by the judgement to enhance rather than replace the work.
  • Experience working across multiple ecommerce or consumer-product brands.
  • Experience in furniture, home, family, lifestyle, retail, or direct-to-consumer businesses.
  • Hands-on familiarity with Canva, CapCut, Adobe tools, Planable, Sprout Social, or comparable platforms.
  • Experience with creators, influencers, or brand partnerships.

Benefits

  • Full-time hybrid position based in Melbourne, with attendance required for planned shoot and production days.
  • Annual base salary of AUD 90,000 to 105,000 plus superannuation.
  • Ownership of social and content delivery across multiple growing ecommerce brands.
  • Close collaboration with Brand, Ecommerce, Product, Supply, and Operations teams.
  • Opportunity to shape the content system, production cadence, and creative testing approach.
