Senior Financial Reporting Accountant, IFRS 17
Lead quarterly IFRS 17, IFRS 4 and UK GAAP close work for a Lloyd’s market insurer. Improve financial reporting processes, systems and controls.
Description
- Lead the quarterly technical close across IFRS 17, IFRS 4 and UK GAAP, owning the process.
- Deliver quarterly IFRS 17 and IFRS 4 technical results for the Lloyd’s entity.
- Prepare accurate, timely closing packs for Group Reporting that meet IFRS and local requirements.
- Analyse movements in IFRS 17 balances and explain the drivers of financial performance.
- Work with Actuarial during close, reviewing outputs and resolving queries.
- Advance process, control and system improvements in financial reporting.
- Assist with the external audit and prepare technical accounting papers.
- Adapt contributions to wider team priorities as business needs arise.
Requirements
- Hold a recognised accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
- Bring 3–5+ years of insurance experience, ideally in the Lloyd’s or London Market.
- Have practical, hands-on IFRS 17 experience.
- Understand IFRS 4 and UK GAAP.
- Have delivered quarterly closes and technical result reporting.
- Be confident working with actuaries and explaining complex insurance figures clearly.
- Have experience with external audit and technical accounting documentation.
- Be interested in process improvement, with experience supporting finance change or system projects.
- Be organised, detail focused and effective under tight reporting deadlines.
