Senior DBA Analyst – Oracle and PostgreSQL Hybrid
Senior DBA Analyst responsible for critical Oracle and PostgreSQL environments at Valid, a secure identification solutions provider. The role covers high availability, disaster recovery, security, backups, and database operations across on-premises and cloud platforms.
Description
- Administer and monitor the primary Oracle RAC environment on ASM to maintain high availability.
- Manage disaster recovery replication through Oracle Data Guard to a Physical Standby cluster.
- Protect data security and privacy with Oracle Advanced Security, including TDE.
- Administer and support PostgreSQL 15 clusters in primary/standby configurations.
- Configure, manage, and optimize MySQL and PostgreSQL databases across AWS and GCP.
- Design, execute, and validate backup and recovery procedures using RMAN and pg_basebackup/Barman.
- Use Oracle Linux for troubleshooting, performance tuning, and preventive maintenance.
- Partner with infrastructure teams to support and validate Storage, iSCSI, and LUN provisioning.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Senior-level DBA experience supporting critical, high-availability database environments.
- Advanced knowledge of Oracle RAC, ASM, and Oracle Data Guard architecture, installation, administration, and Physical Standby management.
- Practical experience configuring and administering Oracle Advanced Security and TDE encryption.
- Strong Oracle Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
- Advanced command of database backup and restoration policies and tools, including RMAN, pg_basebackup, and Barman.
- Proven experience administering PostgreSQL 15 in primary/standby environments.
- Hands-on experience managing MySQL and PostgreSQL databases on AWS and GCP.
- Knowledge of Storage technologies, iSCSI protocols, and LUN administration.
- Preferred qualifications include official database or cloud certifications, Shell scripting, Python, Ansible, Terraform, and experience with OEM, Zabbix, Prometheus, or Grafana.
