Lead AI/ML Engineer - OCR/ICR - ZF Group - Chennai Onsite
Lead AI/ML development for ZF Group’s mobility technology business, focusing on vision-language, OCR/ICR, and RPA solutions. Own enterprise-scale AI product delivery from requirements definition through production deployment.
Description
- Plan, launch, tailor, and support end-to-end OCR/ICR product development initiatives and future RPA solutions
- Deliver full-lifecycle OCR/ICR projects with cross-functional teams, from requirements analysis through solution rollout
- Build and optimize vision-language and machine learning models for document processing, including PDF and image extraction
- Adapt pre-trained models, including LayoutLM, LayoutLMv2/v3, Donut, and Tesseract, to meet business needs
- Build OCR pipelines and improve text recognition across structured and unstructured data
- Develop solutions with advanced Python, FastAPI, machine learning pipelines, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Hugging Face
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree with strong technical expertise in AI/ML products, technologies, processes, and procedural models
- 8–12 years of total professional experience
- At least 5 years of experience with AI/ML products, primarily involving OCR/ICR technologies
- Advanced knowledge of Python, machine learning frameworks and libraries, and analytics tools and technologies
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, MLflow, CI/CD, automation, and OCR
- Several years of experience working as a Technical Architect
- Experience analyzing, designing, developing, testing, and implementing enterprise-scale AI products
- Experience designing, training, deploying, and fine-tuning machine learning and OCR models for production
- Hands-on experience with OCR technologies including PaddleOCR and Tesseract
