Description

  • Record and reconcile accounting activity, with primary responsibility for bank reconciliations, credit entries, expense and revenue accruals, and distinguishing accrued revenue from collected revenue.
  • Prepare and review income and expense journal entries while supporting the monthly close through account reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies across operations, banks, and payment processors, and prepare supporting documentation to prevent recurrence.
  • Track the accounting for funding, disbursements, collections, and commissions, recognizing that each group entity has distinct operations.
  • Support tax compliance by tracking filings, VAT, income tax, withholdings, social security contributions, and reconciliations between CFDIs and accounting records.
  • Prepare working papers and supporting documentation for the close, audits, and requests from the tax team.

Requirements

  • Two to three years of accounting experience in financial services, such as a SOFOM, IFPE, money transmitter, payment processor or aggregator, bank, or fintech.
  • Demonstrated experience with bank reconciliations and filing at least one tax return.
  • General accounting experience covering monthly close, account reconciliations, journal entries, and accounts receivable and payable.
  • Knowledge of CFDIs, VAT, income tax, withholdings, and IMSS.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and experience using accounting ERP software.
  • Completed bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Graduated or currently completing the degree process.
  • Proactive approach: traces discrepancies to their root cause and prepares supporting documentation without constant follow-up.
  • Basic to intermediate English is preferred.
  • Preferred: knowledge of NIF standards for the financial sector, regulatory reporting fundamentals, external audit, Power BI, and AI tools such as Claude, or strong motivation to learn them.
