Interim Accounting Manager - Vancouver Hybrid
Lead month-end close, audits, consolidated reporting, and accounting improvements on an interim basis. Support Semios Group’s sustainable agricultural technology operations through November 2027.
Description
- Lead month-end processing and consolidated organizational reporting
- Review trial balances and supporting financial data for completeness, accuracy, and reasonableness
- Assist the Financial Controller with financial statements, management reporting, and related analysis
- Coordinate monthly and year-end financial close activities
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, analytics, schedules, and working papers
- Track close deliverables, address bottlenecks, and resolve issues with cross-functional Finance teams
- Prepare and review period-end working papers, balance sheet reconciliation reports, and functional or departmental analysis
- Coordinate year-end audit activities and work with external auditors
- Support the preparation of year-end statutory accounts
- Review and maintain transfer pricing policies
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and support to accounting team members
- Identify accounting issues and process improvements, recommending solutions involving automation, business-tool integration, and policy and procedure documentation
Requirements
- At least three years of full-cycle accounting experience in organizations with multiple subsidiaries across different jurisdictions
- Experience leading month-end close and preparing financial reports
- Resilient, adaptable, and solution-focused approach to improvement initiatives
- Strong organizational and interpersonal abilities
- Self-directed, highly motivated, and energetic
- Strong work ethic with a consistent focus on quality and timely delivery
- Able to contribute independently, collaborate as a team member, and lead others
- CPA designation
- Public practice experience is an asset
- Relevant experience in technology, SaaS, hardware, manufacturing, or agriculture is an asset
- Microsoft Dynamics experience is an asset
- Experience using automation and implementing tools to improve productivity is an asset
- Experience identifying and implementing changes that improve efficiency and business performance is an asset
- Strong working knowledge of Google Suite is an asset
