Governance and Legal Associate
Support GDPR compliance, contract work, AI governance, and insurance regulation as dentolo delivers digital supplementary insurance across Germany, France, and Spain.
Description
- Support business projects with data protection guidance and help ensure compliance with GDPR and related regulations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate data processing agreements and associated contract terms.
- Manage and coordinate data subject rights requests.
- Assess data protection risks and help develop mitigation measures.
- Help maintain data maps, AI use case inventories, and AI risk assessments.
- Maintain records of processing activities and supporting data mapping documentation.
- Assist with compliance and insurance regulation, including claims matters and consumer protection.
- Track legislative and regulatory changes relevant to the insurance industry.
- Assist with compliance reviews and internal audits.
- Coordinate internal and external stakeholders on governance and legal work.
- Serve as the first contact for business teams with data protection, contract, and regulatory questions.
- Help develop automated tools, including workflows for data subject requests and data mapping.
- Draft, review, and coordinate commercial agreements.
- Keep legal templates, registers, and internal guidance up to date.
- Plan and deliver governance and legal projects across teams.
- Improve processes and support ongoing operational improvements.
- Work with product and engineering teams to integrate compliance into software development and data handling.
- Introduce legal technology to make governance and legal processes more efficient.
Requirements
- At least six years of professional experience, ideally in a fast-paced international setting.
- Strong expertise in data protection and legal frameworks for IT and artificial intelligence in the European context.
- Solid knowledge of European regulation and cross-border governance and legal issues.
- Technical aptitude and familiarity with software development processes.
- Insurance industry experience is an advantage, especially with regulation, claims-related legal matters, and consumer protection.
- Fluency in German and English.
- Able to think strategically while taking a practical, hands-on approach.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrates integrity, sound judgment, and commercial awareness.
- Comfortable working in a lean, high-performing environment.
