Finance and Accounting Assistant | Mexico Remote
Support transaction processing, reconciliations, and compliance documentation for The Nature Conservancy. This full-time remote role is based in Mexico or Guatemala and supports business units in Argentina and Chile.
Description
- Provide routine finance and accounting support for a department or business unit
- Process vendor invoices, payments, employee reimbursements, and other routine accounting transactions
- Prepare and post routine journal entries while maintaining accurate accounting records
- Review transaction coding, supporting documents, and compliance with established policies and procedures
- Complete account reconciliations and assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
- Maintain financial records, vendor files, and supporting documentation in line with retention requirements
- Provide documentation and information for audits, reporting, and compliance reviews
- Assist with financial data validation and accounting, controlling, and compliance work
- Adhere to the Code of Conduct and consistently uphold organizational values
- Provide finance and accounting support to the Argentina and Chile business units
Requirements
- Associate degree in accounting or a related field plus two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination
- Experience working with automated accounting systems
- Understanding of basic accounting principles or experience analyzing financial figures
- Experience with database management, report preparation, automated systems, and Microsoft Office tools
- Spanish and English bilingual ability is preferred
- Working proficiency in English reading and writing is required
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
- Successful completion of The Nature Conservancy’s background screening process
