Environmental Compliance Inspector in Nevada

Monitor environmental compliance during utility-scale transmission and substation construction in Nevada. Help enforce permit conditions, mitigation measures, and safeguards for sensitive resources.

Description

  • Check compliance with National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permits.
  • Record and report effects on sensitive resources.
  • Track construction progress and the execution of approved mitigation measures.
  • Check that construction vehicles and equipment are clean.
  • Verify that best management practices are in place.
  • Coordinate with construction and regulatory staff to resolve issues and meet permit conditions.
  • Photograph ecological conditions at project sites.
  • Write daily reports.
  • Attend work and meetings regularly and on time.
  • Promote and follow Wright’s and Eocene Environmental Group’s safety and employee ownership culture.
  • Follow applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and stay current with company policies and procedures.
  • Travel outside the area may be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience in fields such as biology, ecology, archaeology, or paleontology.
  • Able to work extended hours in potentially extreme weather.
  • Skilled in using GPS units, maps, iPads, and submeter-accuracy devices.
  • Able to drive four-wheel-drive vehicles over rough terrain.
  • Field experience on construction projects and comfort working near heavy equipment.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong writing ability and experience with Microsoft Office using a current operating system.
  • Clear communicator who is organized, motivated, thorough, accurate, and dependable.
  • Willing and able to relocate to the project location.
  • Sufficient English reading, writing, and speaking skills to perform the role and communicate with employees and vendors.
