Embedded Software Engineer in Belgrade, Serbia (Hybrid)

Develop embedded Linux and RTOS software for connected security, AV, and smart-living products. Build applications, integrations, tests, and device-management capabilities across multiple product lines.

Description

  • Create, implement, and validate embedded software for WattBox, Binary MoIP, OvrC Pro, and other JDM product lines as required
  • Develop and maintain product platforms running embedded Linux or a lightweight RTOS
  • Build embedded application layers with business logic and APIs for networked control systems, test fixtures, and OvrC
  • Integrate and maintain the OvrC interface layer linking partner hardware with the remote management platform
  • Develop and maintain lightweight local web interfaces
  • Collaborate with JDM partners to review software, establish requirements, and resolve integration challenges
  • Diagnose target hardware with logs, debuggers, and network or protocol analysis tools
  • Create unit and integration tests while contributing to CI/CD pipelines and build automation
  • Resolve field issues and support escalations in collaboration with QA, technical support, and product management
  • Contribute to design, planning, and code reviews
  • Apply AI-assisted development tools, including Claude Code and GitHub Copilot, responsibly
  • Support secure software practices through SBOM dependency tracking and vulnerability remediation

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of professional experience developing embedded software
  • Proficiency in C and C++
  • Practical experience developing for embedded Linux
  • Working knowledge of IP, TCP, UDP, multicast, DHCP, and DNS networking fundamentals
  • Experience with Git, Make or CMake, and Bash shell scripting
  • Working knowledge of Python for tooling and test automation
  • Ability to interpret product specifications, datasheets, and schematics
  • Clear written and spoken English communication skills
  • Adaptability across product areas and the ability to learn new codebases quickly
  • Experience with Yocto, bootloaders, kernel configuration, or Linux kernel device drivers
  • Familiarity with SPI, I2C, and UART hardware interfaces
  • Experience with power electronics or power-management products
  • Experience with cloud-connected devices, remote management, or device provisioning
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing for embedded devices
  • Familiarity with Agile practices and Jira
