Design Director, United States Remote
Lead brand, web, and launch design for technology startups at Nen Creative. Guide designers, direct client work, and contribute to new-business pitches.
Description
- Own creative quality across brand identity, web, and launch projects
- Establish creative direction and maintain high standards for final deliverables
- Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary design team
- Develop designers’ craft, strategic thinking, presentation abilities, and independence
- Act as a senior creative partner for priority client engagements
- Lead reviews and presentations with founders and senior stakeholders
- Build client trust, manage feedback, and make challenging creative decisions
- Contribute to discovery and develop creative approaches for new business
- Lead or support pitch development and presentations
- Represent Nen Creative’s perspective and help secure target projects
- Strengthen critiques, quality assurance, creative workflows, case studies, and brand-practice operations
- Collaborate with project management and leadership as the studio expands
Requirements
- Five to eight years of experience in brand, design, or creative roles
- Experience in a strong branding or creative agency environment is preferred
- Exceptional design judgment and craft
- Outstanding client-facing and presentation abilities
- Ability to explain and defend creative decisions, manage feedback, and build trust
- Strong ownership and reliability
- Availability for late nights and weekends when needed; this is not strictly a 9-to-5 role
- Ability to shift between high-level creative direction and hands-on execution
- Must be based in the United States
