Database Administrator (DBA) – Spain, Remote
Manage MongoDB, DB2, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server for PSS, an IT services and consulting company. Help maintain availability, security, performance, and recovery across cloud and on-premises environments.
Description
- Install, configure, administer, and maintain MongoDB, DB2, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server databases.
- Manage replica sets and high-availability environments.
- Monitor, analyze, and optimize database performance.
- Manage backups, restores, and incident recovery.
- Administer users, permissions, and security policies.
- Manage database capacity, storage, and growth.
- Resolve technical incidents and performance issues.
- Upgrade database versions, apply patches, and perform preventive maintenance.
- Contribute to migrations and infrastructure changes.
- Automate administrative tasks and maintain technical documentation.
- Learn the existing systems during the first few months.
- Work with the team to optimize data platforms.
- Take direct ownership of assigned operations.
Requirements
- Substantial DBA experience, particularly administering MongoDB.
- Hands-on experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and operating production databases.
- Practical experience administering DB2, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server.
- Experience with high availability, replication, and recovery.
- Advanced knowledge of backups, restores, and performance tuning.
- Experience handling incidents and ensuring service continuity.
- Knowledge of on-premises and cloud environments.
- Experience in critical enterprise environments is a plus.
- Scripting for automation is a plus.
- Participation in database migrations and upgrades is a plus.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools is a plus.
