Data Engineer, Cybersecurity GRC and AI (Remote, United States)

Build governed data pipelines, risk models, and AI-enabled workflows for cybersecurity and GRC programs. Deliver secure, auditable data and compliance automation for enterprise clients.

Description

  • Build scalable batch and streaming pipelines for security data, control evidence, and compliance records.
  • Design data models for risk indicators, issue tracking, risk acceptance, control testing, audit documentation, and policy exceptions.
  • Enable access to risk and compliance data through reports, dashboards, and self-service analytics.
  • Implement data validation, metadata management, lineage tracking, and access controls.
  • Develop AI-assisted capabilities for evidence summaries, control testing, policy search, security investigations, ticket routing, and exception analysis.
  • Use retrieval-augmented generation, agentic workflows, and orchestration when appropriate.
  • Integrate data platforms with GRC tools and enterprise applications through APIs, event-driven integrations, and connectors.
  • Set up production monitoring and maintain operational documentation to support reliability.
  • Work with cybersecurity, risk, compliance, privacy, and legal teams to turn requirements into technical controls and implementation guidance.
  • Contribute to client cybersecurity, GRC, and AI-enabled automation initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least four years of experience in data engineering and software development.
  • Hands-on proficiency with Python and SQL.
  • Experience delivering production data pipelines and models for batch processing, streaming, or both.
  • Experience deploying solutions with cloud platforms, containers, infrastructure as code, APIs, and secure secrets management.
  • Practical knowledge of data governance and security controls, including classification, PII protection, least-privilege access, encryption, retention policies, audit logs, and metadata or lineage management.
  • Experience supporting GRC activities such as risk reporting, audit requests, control monitoring and testing, compliance measurement, and GRC platform integrations.
  • Experience building LLM-enabled applications with RAG, vector or hybrid search, tool or function calling, evaluation and monitoring, prompt-injection protections, and secure data access.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% based on project requirements.
  • Ability to own deliverables and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to business stakeholders.
  • Careful attention to accuracy, documentation, and delivery quality.
  • Experience leading projects or workstreams and offering practical guidance.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain productive stakeholder relationships.
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
  • Consulting or large-enterprise client experience is preferred.
  • Java, Go, or JavaScript development experience is preferred.
  • Experience integrating ServiceNow GRC, Archer, OneTrust, or BigID is preferred.
  • Experience with SIEM, SOAR, vulnerability management, identity, or cloud security posture platform data is preferred.
  • LLMOps or MLOps production experience is preferred.
  • Relevant security or cloud certifications, such as CompTIA Security+, CISM, CISA, CISSP, or a cloud platform certification, are preferred.
