Contract Manager, Hydroelectric Projects (Canada Remote)

Manage contracts, claims, commercial risks, and protections for GE Vernova hydroelectric projects. Support renewable-energy project execution across North America from a Canada-based remote role.

Description

  • Provide back-office contract support for hydroelectric projects alongside project leaders and site teams
  • Safeguard contractual and commercial interests through administration, notices, change control, and risk monitoring
  • Oversee contract matters from bidding or handover through execution, close-out, and warranty
  • Assess contract rights, obligations, assumptions, exclusions, deliverables, milestones, remedies, and commercial positions
  • Prepare, review, and adapt contractual and commercial communications
  • Help negotiate and finalize amendments, change orders, and related commercial instruments
  • Serve as the project contract resource while coordinating with project management, site, technical, controls, sourcing, quality, and other teams
  • Prepare and administer notices, rights reservations, change requests, amendments, claims evidence, and other contractual submissions
  • Keep contract records, registers, logs, trackers, dashboards, and leadership reporting current
  • Surface contractual risks, opportunities, deviations, and items requiring attention
  • Coordinate evidence packages, event timelines, and supporting records for changes and claims
  • Track events that could affect project cost or schedule
  • Assist with supplier and subcontractor contract administration, including flow-down requirements
  • Work with project directors, managers, legal, sourcing, finance, engineering, controls, customers, partners, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Support compliance, milestone validation, payment records, dispute planning, close-out, final accounts, releases, turnover, and warranty matters

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, law, business, finance, project management, or a related technical or commercial discipline, and/or 5–8 years of demonstrated contract-management experience in complex projects
  • Experience with post-award contract administration, contract interpretation, and contractual issues during project execution
  • Experience preparing and managing formal correspondence, notices, amendments, and change documentation
  • Understanding of contractual risk allocation, commercial impact, and how project events affect contractual entitlement
  • Highly organized and analytical, with the ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines, and documentation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work across functions in a matrixed international organization
  • Fluency in English
  • Experience with hydroelectric, pumped-storage, power-generation, or other complex infrastructure projects
  • Experience with EPC, split-scope, consortium, supply-and-install, or comparable delivery models
  • Familiarity with change management, claims support, commercial risk registers, and contract procedures
  • Sound commercial judgment based on contract terms, project facts, and documented evidence
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce clear, structured contractual communications and summaries
  • Proactive ownership and willingness to identify issues early and drive resolution
  • Ability to collaborate with remote teams and support site execution from a back-office role
  • Experience working in a complex matrix organization
