Contract Manager, Hydroelectric Projects – Canada Remote

GE Vernova seeks a Contract Manager to oversee commercial and contractual risks for North American hydroelectric projects. This remote Canada role supports changes, claims, suppliers, and project delivery from Brossard or a back-office setting.

Description

  • Provide back-office contract management for hydroelectric projects
  • Safeguard GE Vernova’s commercial and contractual interests through administration, notices, change control, and risk monitoring
  • Oversee contract matters from bidding or handover through project delivery, close-out, and warranty
  • Assess contractual rights, duties, assumptions, exclusions, deliverables, milestones, remedies, and commercial positions
  • Prepare, review, and adapt contractual and commercial communications
  • Support negotiations and finalize amendments, change orders, and related commercial documents
  • Serve as the contract resource for project management, site, technical, controls, sourcing, quality, and other teams
  • Prepare and administer notices, rights reservations, change requests, amendments, claims evidence, and contractual submissions
  • Keep contract records, registers, logs, trackers, dashboards, and management updates current
  • Surface contractual risks, opportunities, deviations, and issues requiring attention
  • Coordinate evidence packages, event timelines, and supporting documentation with controls, planning, sourcing, finance, legal, and technical teams
  • Track events that could affect project costs or schedules
  • Assist with supplier and subcontractor contract administration, including flow-down requirements
  • Guide project teams on contract matters and escalate significant issues to leadership
  • Support compliance, milestone validation, payment records, close-out, final accounts, releases, turnover, and warranty matters
  • Report to the regional North America Contract Management Leader

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, law, business, finance, project management, or a related technical or commercial discipline, and/or 5–8 years of demonstrated contract management experience in complex project environments
  • Experience with post-award contract administration, contract interpretation, and contractual issue management during project execution
  • Background preparing and managing formal contract correspondence, notices, amendments, and change documentation
  • Strong grasp of contractual risk allocation, commercial consequences, and how execution events affect contract entitlement
  • Well-developed organizational and analytical abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work across functions within a matrixed international organization
  • Fluency in English
  • Experience with hydroelectric, pumped-storage, power-generation, or other complex infrastructure projects is preferred
  • Experience with EPC, split-scope, consortium, supply-and-install, or comparable complex delivery models is preferred
  • Familiarity with change control, claims support, commercial risk registers, and contract management procedures is preferred
  • Ability to collaborate with distributed teams and support site delivery from a back-office role
  • Experience working in a complex matrix organization is preferred
