Description

  • Own, develop, implement, and operate Allstate’s cloud platforms
  • Build and deploy self-service tools that support cloud-native application development, deployment, and operations
  • Maintain shared team knowledge of owned and managed systems
  • Lead engineering teams delivering new platform products and services
  • Meet SLAs for operational work and customer requests
  • Increase system and team efficiency through effective engineering practices
  • Establish paired programming, test-driven development, infrastructure engineering, and continuous delivery practices
  • Recommend and maintain technology policies and procedures
  • Diagnose availability and performance issues across hardware, operating systems, networks, and applications
  • Design, build, manage, and operate infrastructure-as-a-service layers and cloud platforms
  • Design, build, manage, and operate continuous delivery frameworks and tools
  • Automate platform component lifecycles and serve as a CI/CD subject matter expert
  • Design and operate platform infrastructure and application environments using infrastructure as code
  • Analyze performance, demand, and capacity trends to define scalability plans
  • Integrate platform components and develop services focused on open-source technologies
  • Develop log analytics and logging-as-a-service solutions
  • Create monitoring solutions with tools including Graphite, ELK, Datadog, and New Relic

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience preferred
  • Experience with cloud applications, cloud engineering, and cloud platforms
  • Experience using continuous integration and continuous delivery software
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Software development experience
  • Experience with Terraform
  • Willingness to undergo a background investigation
  • Allstate generally does not sponsor individuals for employment-based visas for this position

  • Reliable internet with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload
