Cloud Engineer III — Cloud.gov and Azure | Ad Hoc | Remote, United States

Design and operate secure, automated Cloud.gov and Azure infrastructure for Ad Hoc’s federal clients. Help modernize government digital services through scalable cloud engineering and delivery.

Description

  • Design and deploy cloud solutions on Cloud.gov and Azure that meet client requirements
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate cloud technologies effectively
  • Monitor infrastructure performance, reliability, and availability, then optimize as needed
  • Apply and maintain security controls across cloud environments
  • Automate operational processes to improve efficiency and system scalability
  • Address client needs in Cloud.gov and Azure with limited day-to-day leadership oversight
  • Advance the program’s long-term objectives and development strategy
  • Build, automate, operate, and maintain infrastructure tailored to client requirements
  • Work directly with clients, engineers, and other technical stakeholders
  • Develop capabilities, deliver products, modernize legacy systems, and establish digital infrastructure for federal agencies

Requirements

  • At least seven years of hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Cloud.gov, or Azure
  • Expert knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and security controls
  • Expert proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools, including Terraform
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for resolving complex technical problems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Ability to complete and maintain the required federal Public Trust background investigation and suitability determination
  • Experience with Cloud.gov and Azure is preferred
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Azure Administrator are preferred
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is preferred
  • Expertise in DevOps practices and tooling is highly valuable
  • Experience working directly with clients, engineers, and other technical stakeholders
  • Experience supporting government or federal programs
