Cash Staff Accountant — United States Remote

Manage cash postings, reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting across Datavant’s multi-entity operations. Help strengthen automation, controls, and accuracy across high-volume cash transactions.

Description

  • Post daily cash activity across multiple bank accounts and legal entities
  • Track cash balances and investigate discrepancies, unusual activity, and timing differences
  • Provide Treasury with daily cash-position reporting and liquidity information
  • Complete daily and monthly bank reconciliations for more than 40 accounts
  • Research and resolve bank-account discrepancies and variances
  • Prepare cash-related journal entries covering bank fees, interest, credit-card activity, and adjustments
  • Support variance analysis by explaining cash movements and timing differences
  • Apply GAAP and internal policies to cash transactions
  • Process and analyze high-volume transaction data across ERP, billing, and payment-processing systems
  • Maintain cash-clearing accounts
  • Help improve the efficiency, scalability, and accuracy of cash processes
  • Keep complete documentation and audit trails for cash activities
  • Support internal and external audit requests
  • Work with Treasury, A/R, A/P, and Revenue Accounting to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate allocation and classification
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners, including banks and payment providers

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline
  • At least 3–5 years of accounting experience, ideally in cash accounting or accounts receivable within a high-volume, multi-entity environment
  • Experience handling large transaction datasets and multiple payment channels
  • Proficiency with ERP platforms, preferably NetSuite
  • Experience with payment processors for cash receipts and accounts-payable systems, preferably Coupa
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to balance competing priorities
  • Experience with automation tools or system integrations is a plus
  • Strong critical-thinking skills and a creative approach to problem-solving
