Android Software Engineer, Level 4

Build smooth, scalable Android experiences at Snap Inc. by developing features, reviewing code, and using AI-assisted engineering workflows.

Description

  • Optimize mobile capabilities to deliver polished user experiences
  • Create smooth, stable, engaging products
  • Take features from design through implementation and launch
  • Assess technical tradeoffs while partnering with design on UI and infrastructure practices
  • Review code to maintain high quality
  • Apply AI tools and rapid engineering practices to design and ship scalable services
  • Maintain strict standards for correctness, security, and production readiness

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • At least 2 years of post-bachelor’s software development experience, or a master’s degree plus 1 year of postgraduate experience, or a relevant PhD
  • Professional experience developing Android applications
  • Proficiency with Kotlin, Java, RxJava, Dagger, and related development tools
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and work effectively independently
  • Proficiency with, or strong aptitude for, using AI tools to improve development efficiency
  • Sound judgment to evaluate AI-generated code for architectural quality, performance issues, and security risks
  • Ability to learn and apply evolving AI systems and tools
  • Experience with large-scale, customer-facing mobile applications is preferred
  • Willingness to work from an office at least four days per week
