Senior Cyber Defense Engineer
Lead cyber defense strategy and engineering for Dexcom’s continuous glucose monitoring technology, advancing detection, incident response, threat hunting, automation, and readiness.

- Shape the strategy and roadmap for enterprise cyber defense capabilities
- Set architectural direction for cyber defense
- Define design principles, telemetry standards, integration patterns, and engineering practices
- Manage the enterprise detection engineering lifecycle, from detection logic and use cases to validation, tuning, and effectiveness measurement
- Build advanced detections, telemetry integrations, SOAR workflows, and AI agent response patterns with human oversight
- Lead major cross-functional cyber defense programs and technology transformations
- Resolve complex dependencies, technical tradeoffs, and sequencing decisions
- Provide senior technical leadership during complex incidents and emerging or unconventional risk scenarios
- Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions to deliver lasting defensive improvements
- Set the technical approach for threat hunting and adversary validation
- Strengthen cyber readiness through technical exercises, playbook validation, and escalation testing
- Identify and address systemic gaps in defensive capabilities
- Explain technical risk to senior leaders
- Mentor engineers and analysts to build technical expertise
आवश्यकताएँ
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and at least 13 years of related experience, or a master’s degree and at least 8 years of equivalent industry experience, or a PhD and at least 5 years of experience
- Track record of leading complex cyber defense initiatives across organizational boundaries
- Deep expertise in SIEM, SOAR, XDR/EDR, NDR, identity and email telemetry, and cloud security technologies
- Experience with large-scale cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments
- Strong engineering experience in detection logic, automation, telemetry pipelines, API integrations, or security tooling
- Experience with Python, PowerShell, SPL, KQL, SQL, or similar technologies
- Deep knowledge of adversary behavior, threat hunting, incident response, digital forensics fundamentals, detection engineering, cyber threat intelligence, and MITRE ATT&CK
- Experience applying AI or machine learning to detection, investigation, or automated response, including measuring performance and maintaining appropriate human oversight
- Ability to serve as a senior technical authority, influence leaders without formal authority, mentor senior practitioners, and make sound decisions in high-stakes situations
- Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, GIAC, or equivalent advanced security credentials may be advantageous
