Mechanical Facilities Assessment Consultant
Assess mechanical systems across varied facilities for Gordian, documenting conditions, estimating corrective costs, and helping clients plan investments. Gordian provides construction cost data, software, and lifecycle services.

- Review client drawings, studies, and maintenance logs before and during inspections.
- Visually inspect heating, cooling, ventilation, distribution, fire protection, controls, and plumbing systems.
- Check alignment with client standards and requirements for accessibility, fire and life safety, codes, energy, and sustainability.
- Work with client facilities management teams to understand operations, investments, and functional needs.
- Record onsite findings using tablets, built-in cameras, and mobile data collection software.
- Estimate facility replacement and corrective work costs using data libraries and vendor research.
- Enter findings into Gordian’s asset management and capital planning software.
- Check findings for completeness and accuracy.
- Answer client questions and clarify assessment findings.
आवश्यकताएँ
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, facilities management, or construction management, or equivalent combined experience.
- At least five years of experience in facility assessment or inspection, facility operations, design, construction, or facility or property management.
- Knowledge of researching and applying applicable building codes and standards for existing buildings.
- Experience conducting quantity surveys and estimating replacement values with RS Means or other construction cost data sets.
- Experience assessing facility and system conditions and performing lifecycle analysis to identify deficiencies and estimate corrective costs.
- Proficiency with computers and mobile devices, including Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, and various web browsers.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to focus work on the highest-priority tasks and deliver results.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to walk and inspect large complexes and climb ladders and stairs.
- Ability to travel nationally 40% to 50% of the time and occasionally internationally, for trips of up to two weeks.
