Finance Manager

Lead accounting operations, financial reporting, payroll, tax remittances, and internal controls for a Markham-based organization. Coordinate month-end and year-end close activities and work with external accountants.

  • Direct daily accounting, reporting, cash management, payroll, regulatory payments, and period-end close.
  • Administer customer billing and collections, including recurring invoices, statements, aging, and discrepancy resolution.
  • Manage accounts payable, vendor communications, invoice checks, payments, records, aging, and issue resolution.
  • Run payroll and reconciliations, and process employee reimbursements and credit card expenses.
  • Handle HST, WSIB, Employer Health Tax, property tax, and corporate income tax payments, along with related government records.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card activity, investigate unusual transactions, and record journal entries.
  • Keep the general ledger accurate and review balance sheets, income statements, and supporting schedules.
  • Record month-end accruals, prepaid expenses, adjustments, and journal entries.
  • Assess results, variances, trends, and issues, and provide management with timely financial information.
  • Create and maintain accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Manage year-end accounting and coordinate external accountant audit or review engagements.
  • Fulfill external accountant requests and support year-end adjustments and financial statement preparation.
  • Ensure accounting records are accurate, address reporting issues, strengthen processes and controls, and uphold financial policies.
  • Partner with senior leaders, external accountants, and internal teams on financial decisions and compliance.

आवश्यकताएँ

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related discipline.
  • CPA designation or progress toward completion is preferred.
  • At least five years of increasingly responsible accounting experience, including month-end reporting and reconciliations.
  • Experience as a Financial Controller, Accounting Manager, or Senior Accountant is preferred.
  • Sound knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and financial controls.
  • Background in accounts receivable and payable, payroll, government remittances, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency with accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and expense management platforms.
  • Experience in a service, technology, or recurring revenue business is an asset.
