Investigate property damage, estimate losses, and negotiate settlements for Farmers Insurance. Serve policyholders in the Del Rio, Texas area, with occasional catastrophe deployments.

- Inspect policyholders’ homes virtually and in person to investigate claims.
- Assess property damage and liability, evaluate losses, and negotiate fair settlements.
- Use claims software, a company car, and a laptop to assess damage and prepare estimates.
- Identify and report potential subrogation opportunities.
- Report suspected theft, fraud, or arson to relevant state and industry agencies.
- Work independently, with decisions that directly affect management outcomes.
- Represent Farmers Insurance professionally in public interactions.
- Work with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, investigators, attorneys, and medical professionals.
- Negotiate claim settlements with policyholders.
- Support workplace safety and follow company safety and ergonomic standards.
- Complete one to three catastrophe deployments each year.
- When assigned to the Catastrophe team, travel away from home for designated periods, typically 23 days.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong customer service experience; retail experience is preferred.
- Construction or insurance experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong spoken and written communication skills.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Comfort using smartphones and mobile applications.
- Willingness to learn insurance policies and property damage assessment.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a bond.
- Final candidates must pass a motor vehicle record background check.
- Live within 50 miles of the designated Del Rio, Texas territory.
- Able and willing to climb ladders and work on rooftops several times per day.
- Able and willing to work in confined spaces, including attics and crawlspaces.
- Pass all claims training exams.
- Able to carry up to 50 pounds.
- Able to speak, read, and write English and perform key entry.
