Coding Compliance Auditor and Educator (Remote)
Conduct professional fee coding audits for Wellstar Health System, an integrated Georgia healthcare organization, while educating physicians on ICD-10-CM coding and EMR documentation compliance.
विवरण
- Perform independent audits of professional fee coding
- Examine medical records to confirm clinician-selected codes are supported by documentation
- Verify coding assignments against federal regulations, official guidelines, organizational policies, and professional standards
- Develop and present clear, accurate audit results to physicians and charge review personnel
- Cite authoritative coding and compliance sources in audit reports
- Meet with providers to explain audit findings and recommend corrective improvements
- Investigate coding and compliance questions
- Answer coding inquiries from providers and coding team members
- Coordinate provider meeting schedules
- Help develop and maintain coding reference materials and presentation content
- Train physicians on ICD-10-CM coding and EMR documentation requirements
- Complete ongoing professional education and keep relevant certifications current
- Report trends, issues, and support requirements to management
- Track and document time spent on assigned work
आवश्यकताएँ
- Associate degree from an accredited college, or equivalent qualifying experience in place of the degree
- Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related discipline from an accredited college is preferred
- Certified Professional Coder certification is required
- Certified Coding Specialist certification is required
- Certified Professional Medical Auditor certification is preferred at hire
- At least five years of physician-practice auditing or coding compliance experience, or at least seven years of coding or billing experience in a physician or outpatient coding environment
- Exceptional coding accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to explain complex coding and compliance concepts clearly in speech and writing
- Experience with public speaking, presentations, and educational activities
- Extensive knowledge of Medicare rules, documentation guidelines, and federal and state requirements for clinical documentation, coding, and reimbursement
- Ability to learn quickly and independently resolve complex issues
- Strong time-management abilities
- Ability to adapt, set priorities, and meet deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to protect confidential information
- Professional appearance and conduct when working with physicians
