Senior Software Engineer, Metrics Ingestion (Remote, Italy)
Build and scale metrics collection and ingestion for Sysdig’s cloud security platform. Work across host and Kubernetes agents, backend services, and distributed systems challenges.
Tavsif
- Own metrics collection and ingestion across customer hosts, Kubernetes nodes, and Sysdig’s backend pipeline with a cross-functional team.
- Improve pipeline performance, scalability, and correctness.
- Guide technical design for features spanning agents and backend services.
- Work with product and design teams to define specifications and timelines.
- Help the team build and improve the product.
- Take part in an on-call rotation to resolve urgent issues.
- Report to the Engineering Manager.
Talablar
- Bring strong coding ability and at least five years of professional experience in Rust, Go, or C/C++, and be ready to learn and work across technologies.
- Have a solid systems programming background, including Linux internals, processes, cgroups, networking, and file I/O.
- Have built performance-sensitive software for customer infrastructure that is resource-constrained, resilient to partial failures, and safe to run with elevated privileges.
- Understand distributed systems, including horizontally scalable services and/or event-driven architectures.
- Communicate fluently in English.
- Experience with eBPF, kernel instrumentation, or container runtimes such as containerd, CRI-O, or Docker is an advantage.
- Familiarity with observability tools and telemetry is highly desirable.
- Kubernetes experience is an advantage.
- Experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure is an advantage.
