Senior Safety Engineer, Transportation
Lead transportation safety efforts at Target, ensuring equipment and facilities meet applicable safety standards. Oversee risk assessments, equipment design reviews, and safety program deployment.
Tavsif
- Manage programs that keep new and modified equipment compliant with applicable codes, regulations, and accredited standards.
- Build safety systems into new and existing equipment designs.
- Coordinate with engineering, automation, operations design, activation, facilities, field operations, and other partners.
- Lead risk assessment processes (RAP).
- Help develop and review equipment designs.
- Advise on controls and resolve identified findings.
- Guide projects from design through activation and go-live.
- Ensure key headquarters programs address risk and compliance obligations.
- Define appropriate organizational risk tolerance.
- Shape safety programs and standards with headquarters partners.
- Build and maintain a strong safety culture.
- Plan field deployments of safety programs and standards.
- Ensure deployments align with industry and regulatory standards.
- Contribute to safety standards and training.
Talablar
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or safety, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated direct or indirect safety leadership.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) credential or a related professional certification.
- Ability to influence and guide partners and leaders.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft products.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Applied knowledge of relevant regulations, codes, and standards, including OSHA and ANSI.
- Work must be performed within the country of the primary work location, unless Target specifies otherwise.
