NETA Field Service Technician
Test and troubleshoot industrial and commercial electrical systems as a NETA Field Service Technician with Shermco Industries. Service transformers, relays, cables, switchgear, and circuit breakers at customer sites.
Tavsif
- Inspect, test, troubleshoot, start up, and collect data for low-, medium-, and high-voltage electrical systems at industrial and commercial customer sites.
- Test instrument transformers.
- Test power transformers using Doble, TTR, insulation resistance, and related methods.
- Test electromechanical and solid-state relays.
- Test cables using Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, and DC Hipot methods.
- Troubleshoot automatic transfer switches.
- Test low-, medium-, and high-voltage switchgear and circuit breakers.
- Perform moderately complex relay calibration and power metering.
- Take turns covering emergency on-call duty and respond promptly to customer emergencies.
- Work with a team to complete work safely, efficiently, and to high quality standards.
Talablar
- Drive locally or regionally each day and be available for occasional overnight travel.
- An associate degree from an accredited two-year technical college in Electrical Power & Controls (EPC), or an electrical engineering degree from an ABET-accredited college, is preferred.
- Comparable experience and training from military programs such as Army Prime Power, Air Force Electrical Power Production, or Navy Seabee is relevant.
- NETA Certification I, II, III, or IV, or a similar certification, is preferred.
- At least two years of relevant switchgear testing and troubleshooting experience.
- Computer skills for email, internet use, data entry, and Microsoft Excel; PowerDB experience is a plus.
- Work safely and follow all electrical safety procedures.
- OSHA 30-hour, MSHA, NFPA 70E, CPR, First Aid, BBP, or AED training is preferred.
- Remain drug-free and pass a pre-employment hair follicle drug test and periodic unannounced random drug tests.
- Pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
- Be physically able, with or without reasonable accommodations, to crawl, climb, stand, walk, and lift up to 75 pounds.
- Pass a fit-for-duty physical examination.
- Hold a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.
- Be available for flexible hours and overtime, including occasional weekends, holidays, and nights.
- Be authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
- Read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Be willing to travel at least 40% of the time.
- Offers are conditional on acceptable background checks and drug and alcohol screening.
