Mechanical Design Drafter, 2D Drafting

Complete mechanical design studies and 2D drawing packages for special-purpose machines incorporating high-power lasers at YEVO. Adapt drawings for manufacturing and coordinate design issues with mechanical engineers.

Tavsif

  • Develop 2D drawings of machine components and tooling from existing models.
  • Set functional dimensions and tolerances to suit each part.
  • Produce complete drawing packages with assembly drawings, detail drawings, and bills of materials.
  • Take over existing assemblies to complete mechanical design studies already in progress.
  • Adapt drawings to manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal fabrication, and surface treatments.
  • Prepare supplier request-for-quotation packages.
  • Review drawings for consistency and completeness before release.
  • Work with mechanical engineers to resolve open design issues.
  • Keep documents current and traceable in team tools, particularly Inventor.

Talablar

  • Experienced in mechanical design drafting.
  • Comfortable preparing tooling drawings, preferably for aerospace or special-purpose machinery.
  • Strong knowledge of functional dimensioning.
  • Understand part manufacturing methods and processes.
  • Proficient in 2D drafting and preparing drawing packages.
  • Able to complete designs using previously designed parts and assemblies.
  • Inventor experience is an advantage but is not essential.
  • Good working knowledge of SolidWorks or CATIA, with the ability to become proficient quickly.
