Junior Compliance Analyst

Support regulatory reviews, vendor risk, privacy, and AI governance for april’s AI-powered tax platform. The role offers a hybrid schedule in New York or remote work across the United States on Eastern time.

Tavsif

  • Conduct compliance reviews, monitoring, and testing for april’s regulatory obligations.
  • Investigate potential compliance issues, document findings, and escalate concerns as needed.
  • Identify control gaps and help coordinate remediation and follow-up.
  • Support regulatory reporting, audits, and compliance assessments.
  • Track regulatory developments affecting tax software, data privacy, and financial services.
  • Summarize relevant regulatory changes and help update internal policies and procedures.
  • Lead customer due diligence requests, including third-party risk, compliance and privacy questionnaires, audit requests, and ongoing monitoring inquiries.
  • Coordinate with the Security team on consistent responses to security, privacy, and regulatory questionnaires, and maintain the Legal and compliance answer bank.
  • Manage vendor compliance intake by risk-tiering new vendors, reviewing security and privacy documents, and routing items to Legal or Security.
  • Maintain compliance policies, track review dates, manage versions, and coordinate annual reviews and approvals.
  • Coordinate compliance training, track completion, and help develop training materials.
  • Support AI governance through use-case inventory, vendor and model documentation, and review workflows.

Talablar

  • Have 1–4 years of experience in compliance, risk, privacy, or a related field.
  • Bring working familiarity with at least one area: U.S. financial privacy law, data privacy frameworks, third-party risk management, or financial services or tax regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and investigative skills.
  • Stay organized, maintain accurate trackers, and meet deadlines independently.
  • Work independently and handle sensitive information with care.
  • Be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Complete employment eligibility verification upon hire.
  • Preferred: Experience at a fintech, bank, or tax software company, or supporting clients in those industries.
  • Preferred: Exposure to the Internal Revenue Code, IRS e-file provider rules, or tax-industry data protection requirements.
  • Preferred: Experience responding to bank or financial institution due diligence questionnaires, or using a compliance management tool.
  • Preferred: A privacy or compliance certification, or active progress toward one.
  • Answer whether current or future employment visa sponsorship will be required.
