Generative AI Artist at Rodeo FX (Remote, Canada)
Create AI-generated visuals, sequences, and previs for Rodeo FX’s visual-effects and advertising work. Develop ComfyUI workflows and partner with compositing, 3D, and art-direction teams.
Tavsif
- Create images and sequences for visual direction, pitches, previs, IP development, and broadcast-ready shots
- Develop and maintain ComfyUI workflows that combine multiple models for individual shots
- Train LoRAs for image and video models and assemble balanced training datasets
- Assess emerging models for image quality, controllability, turnaround time, and cost
- Produce polished visuals that meet studio quality standards
- Create visual directions, lookframes, key visuals, animatics, and final shots for advertising and IP development
- Preserve character, product, and world continuity across shots
- Archive workflows, record model versions, and ensure results can be reproduced
- Prepare deliverables for compositing, 3D, and finishing teams with the required color space, resolution, frame rate, and passes
- Use live-action plates, on-set captures, and mocap data to inform generative work
- Investigate generative 3D methods such as Gaussian Splatting and image-to-3D
- Monitor credit and compute consumption and provide usage reports as required
- Work with art directors, supervisors, producers, and artists across departments
- Communicate AI tools’ capabilities, constraints, and costs to producers and clients
- Follow copyright rules, likeness-consent requirements, and commercial licensing terms
- Safeguard confidential client assets by working only through studio-approved platforms
- Keep informed about developments in image, video, 3D, and audio models
- Record techniques and expand the internal library of workflows, LoRAs, style references, and test findings
- Train artists in other departments and help foster Rodeo FX’s collaborative AI practice
Talablar
- A portfolio showing strong visual taste and judgment across composition, lighting, style, and storytelling
- An artistic background in illustration, photography, concept art, compositing, motion design, cinematography, or a related field
- Advanced ComfyUI skills, including the ability to create custom workflows and node graphs
- Experience training LoRAs and preparing datasets
- Working knowledge of at least two video-generation models and several image-generation models, including their respective strengths and limitations
- Understanding of VFX pipelines and advertising-production demands such as short deadlines, review cycles, version control, and budgets
- Proficiency in Photoshop
- Foundational compositing ability is strongly preferred
- Fluency in spoken and written French and English
- Knowledge of Python, Nuke, Houdini, Blender, or Unreal Engine is an asset
- Experience creating custom ComfyUI nodes or contributing to open-source projects is an asset
- Background in advertising or post-production delivery is an asset
- Knowledge of on-set capture methods that support generative workflows is an asset
