Site Reliability Engineer
Build Ford’s global monitoring and observability platform, strengthening reliability, scalability, security, and disaster recovery across GCP services.
Descriere
- Develop and deploy code to improve reliability across new and existing systems.
- Review code and provide feedback on production changes.
- Repair and optimize complex systems.
- Lead debugging and analysis of service architecture and design.
- Take part in the on-call rotation.
- Create design documents, system analyses, runbooks, and playbooks.
- Build and manage SRE monitoring backends with Go, Postgres, and OpenTelemetry.
- Create infrastructure tooling with Terraform and related infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Optimize GCP performance and costs, and scale resources to meet demand.
- Work with development teams to improve reliability and performance.
- Automate on-call monitoring, performance tuning, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Diagnose and resolve issues across development, test, and production environments.
- Contribute to postmortems and develop preventive measures.
- Apply infrastructure security practices and support audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Contribute to capacity planning and forecasting.
- Find and resolve performance bottlenecks through profiling, analysis, and configuration tuning.
- Develop, maintain, and test disaster recovery procedures.
- Maintain internal knowledge bases and documentation.
Cerințe
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or mathematics, or have equivalent experience.
- Bring at least five years of experience as a software engineer or in a similar role.
- Have strong Go development experience; familiarity with Terraform provider development is preferred.
- Be proficient with monitoring and observability tools, especially OpenTelemetry or comparable tools.
- Be proficient with cloud services; Kubernetes and Google Cloud Platform experience is strongly preferred.
- Have solid Go and scripting skills, with a sound grasp of software development practices.
- Have experience with relational and document databases.
- Be able to debug and optimize code and automate routine work.
- Bring strong problem-solving skills and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
- Communicate effectively in writing and conversation.
