Senior MDR Security Analyst — Australia Remote

Descriere

  • Help launch Apollo, Artemis’s managed detection and response service, as a founding analyst
  • Manage security cases from initial review through resolution
  • Determine what happened, assess impact and blast radius, assign verdicts and severity, and document your reasoning
  • Trace attacker activity across identity, cloud, endpoint, and SaaS telemetry
  • Investigate initial access, lateral movement, persistence, and data exfiltration
  • Pair AI-assisted investigation with direct log analysis
  • Recommend and carry out containment within each customer’s authorized scope
  • Assess response actions and their likely effects before execution, favoring reversible steps
  • When approval is needed, explain recommended actions, their impact, and the next steps to customers
  • Acknowledge cases and deliver verdicts within severity-based response targets
  • Prioritize work according to risk and potential impact
  • Share case summaries, investigative reasoning, and final findings directly with customers
  • Conduct hypothesis-led, AI-assisted threat hunts across customer environments
  • Convert hunt findings into cases and new detections
  • Contribute to investigative standards, response workflows, customer reporting, and the analyst console
  • Use verdicts, reasoning, and observed patterns to inform detection engineering and product improvements

Cerințe

  • At least four years of hands-on security operations work in a SOC, MSSP, or MDR setting
  • Senior or Tier 3 experience making final investigation decisions
  • Demonstrated investigative expertise with identity platforms such as Okta and Entra ID
  • Demonstrated investigative expertise across AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Demonstrated investigative expertise with endpoint detection and response (EDR)
  • Demonstrated investigative expertise with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace
  • Strong knowledge of attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures, including MITRE ATT&CK
  • Sound, evidence-based investigative judgment
  • Practical experience using AI to assist investigations or automate work
  • Customer-facing ability to explain active security incidents and recommended actions
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Availability to work a defined shift as analyst coverage expands to 24/7
  • Preferred: experience in a multi-tenant MDR or MSSP practice
  • Preferred: experience writing or tuning detections in Sigma, YARA-L, SPL, KQL, or similar languages
  • Preferred: incident command experience, including executive customer briefings
  • Preferred: background in dedicated threat hunting or digital forensics and incident response
  • Preferred: daily hands-on use of AI or agentic coding tools to build personal tooling
