Senior Lead Cloud Security and SRE Engineer

Descriere

  • Build and improve secure AWS and, where applicable, Azure infrastructure for reliability, automation, and security.
  • Configure cloud services with least-privilege IAM, network segmentation, encryption and key management, and centralized logging and monitoring.
  • Deploy and tune cloud security tools, then turn their findings into fixes.
  • Assess cloud and on-premises infrastructure, identify gaps, misconfigurations, and technical debt, and implement or recommend remedies.
  • Automate infrastructure, configuration, and remediation with infrastructure as code and scripting.
  • Establish guardrails and automated checks to detect misconfigurations before or soon after production deployment.
  • Strengthen monitoring, alerting, and incident response to detect and resolve issues quickly.
  • Support security across deployment pipelines and container platforms where applicable.
  • Diagnose complex infrastructure and security issues across cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Lead technical work by reviewing designs and code, mentoring engineers, and explaining tradeoffs and recommendations to engineering teams and leadership.

Cerințe

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • At least 8 years of hands-on experience in site reliability engineering, cloud engineering, cloud infrastructure engineering, or cloud security engineering, including technical leadership.
  • Strong practical experience implementing and operating production infrastructure in AWS, with a record of delivered projects; AWS GovCloud experience is a plus.
  • Practical experience securing AWS services, including IAM, VPCs, security groups, network ACLs, KMS encryption, CloudTrail, and CloudWatch.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS security tools such as GuardDuty, Security Hub, AWS Config, or Inspector, including responding to their findings.
  • Experience automating AWS infrastructure and operations with infrastructure as code, such as Terraform or CloudFormation, and scripting.
  • Ability to assess existing AWS and hybrid environments and turn findings into practical fixes and clear recommendations.
  • Strong communication skills and experience leading technical discussions with engineers and leadership.
  • Production infrastructure as code experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible, including reusable modules and code review.
  • Experience hardening systems to CIS Benchmarks or DISA STIGs.
  • Experience with containers and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with GitLab or GitHub CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with AWS GovCloud environments.
  • Experience across multiple cloud platforms.
  • Direct experience in federal government, government, or large distributed enterprise environments.
