Senior Embedded Python Engineer

Descriere

  • Maintain and extend Python and Docker software on NVIDIA Jetson devices used in industrial inspection towers and drive-over virtual lifts.
  • Oversee deployments from initial flashing and hardware setup through site provisioning and versioned releases of containerized applications.
  • Manage software versions and releases across production and experimental devices and locations, including over-the-air updates.
  • Work with two electrical engineers to turn component findings into deployable, updateable software, including drivers for peripheral and imaging hardware.
  • Build and maintain device-to-backend messaging with MQTT and Kafka.
  • Identify technical needs and help set the team’s priorities.
  • Document how the system operates and help colleagues debug and maintain it.

Cerințe

  • Bring at least 7 years of professional software engineering experience, primarily in Python, including production software deployed on hardware in the field.
  • Have experience building and deploying software on embedded Linux platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson, comparable single-board computers, or system-on-modules.
  • Have hands-on experience packaging, versioning, and deploying applications with Docker.
  • Be experienced with collaborative version control and release management, including branching strategies, merge conflict resolution, package versioning, and supporting multiple releases across production and experimental devices at different locations.
  • Have experience with message brokers, particularly MQTT and Kafka, or similar systems such as RabbitMQ.
  • Have experience implementing or configuring Linux drivers for external peripherals and imaging hardware such as cameras.
  • Be able to work independently, identify needed work, help prioritize it, and deliver without relying on a predefined ticket list.
  • Write clear technical documentation and share knowledge, including helping peers at the same or higher level debug and maintain the system.
