Project Engineer II, Automation and Robotics

Develop and quote automation and robotic systems for ENGEL, a global plastics processing machinery manufacturer. Based onsite in York, Pennsylvania, this role supports sales, vendors, customers, and project handoffs.

Descriere

  • Develop automation concepts for production cells.
  • Assess automation equipment performance.
  • Research technologies to create competitive, cost-effective designs.
  • Manage project quoting from concept through order.
  • Prepare quotes for automation and robotic systems.
  • Develop design concepts for customer applications.
  • Research vendors, define supply scope, and negotiate prices.
  • Prepare quotation and 2D layouts for the sales team.
  • Coordinate with the Concept Drafter on 3D and detailed 2D layouts.
  • Assist sales through calls, email, and onsite customer visits.
  • Keep product knowledge of automation systems current.
  • Maintain internal reports.
  • Lead project kickoff meetings to hand projects over to operations.
  • Identify new vendors and automation partners.
  • Assist key account customers across North America.
  • Provide technical training to sales staff and customers (5%).
  • Take on other duties and special projects as needed.

Cerințe

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • At least five years of relevant experience.
  • Background in machinery engineering, including mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Experience with project budget responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in 2D CAD, SAP, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with IDEAS or NX is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines.
  • Practical knowledge of automation and mechatronics.
  • Presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication with engineers, management, sales, assembly staff, vendors, and customers.
  • Organized, detail-focused, able to manage multiple tasks, and attentive to deadlines.
  • Able to travel nationally and internationally 15–20%.
  • Valid US driver’s license.
  • Able to sit, use a computer, and keyboard for more than two hours at a time on a regular basis.
  • Must wear safety glasses on the factory floor.
