Senior Backend Software Engineer, Retail DEX — Coinbase
Build Coinbase’s onchain DEX trading and blockchain data systems. Connect blockchains and smart contracts while scaling high-throughput pipelines for millions of traders.

- Connect new blockchains, decentralized exchanges, and launchpads to the Coinbase app.
- Create first-party smart contracts for onchain trading, including DEX aggregation and advanced order types.
- Scale real-time data pipelines to process more than 100,000 messages per second.
- Process blockchain market data with millisecond-level latency.
- Improve the trading stack end to end for fast execution, strong fills, and broad asset coverage.
- Advance agentic-first development practices through continued iteration.
- Create self-improving software and tools that help the team work faster.
- Support onchain DEX trading for millions of Coinbase users and more than 70 million tokens across major blockchains, including Base and Solana.
Prasības
- At least five years of backend software engineering experience.
- A track record of building and operating production data systems or pipelines.
- Practical experience designing data-intensive systems.
- Experience with large-scale data infrastructure such as Kafka, ClickHouse, StarRocks, Temporal, or Redis.
- Experience designing and integrating onchain smart contracts on EVM networks such as Ethereum or Base, or on Solana.
- Strong understanding of the programming models of one or more of these virtual machines.
- Ability to build, refine, and improve agentic-first code repositories and software systems in production.
- Use generative AI responsibly with human oversight.
- This role is based in the United States; applicants must meet applicable U.S. work requirements.
