Embedded Software Engineer, Avionics

Develop and test embedded software for Honeywell Aerospace Technologies’ avionics and defense systems. This hybrid role is based in Clearwater, Florida, and supports safe, high-performance aerospace operations.

Apraksts

  • Develop and implement software for aerospace technologies.
  • Design, build, and test software for aerospace products and services.
  • Keep work aligned with project requirements and schedules.
  • Work across teams to define software specifications and improve system performance.
  • Complete project tasks to meet customer specifications.
  • Exchange task-level technical information with teammates and internal customers.
  • Prepare user manuals, technical specifications, and project reports.
  • Write software in multiple languages, including object-oriented languages such as C++.
  • Report to the Engineering Manager.
  • Travel may be required up to 10%.

Prasības

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical field such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
  • At least five years of full lifecycle embedded software development experience.
  • Strong experience with embedded RTOS platforms such as VxWorks, Linux, Integrity, or Deos.
  • Strong knowledge of computer architecture, networking, and communications protocols, including A429, I2C, SPI, and UART.
  • Experience developing embedded software for aerospace.
  • Proficiency in C, C++, and Python.
  • Experience with assembly language.
  • Experience in software verification and validation.
  • Familiarity with DO-178B or DO-178C.
  • Experience with software development lifecycles.
  • Experience with JIRA, Bitbucket, DOORS, and Microsoft Visual Studio.
  • Experience with software configuration and change management practices.
  • Strong analytical and software development skills.
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills, including the ability to motivate and mentor team members.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance under 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM).
