Associate Software Engineer Student
As a student software engineer, support Sun Life’s financial services work by building AI applications, automation, and cloud solutions. Work with Agile teams on secure software, testing, and innovation projects.

- Build, test, and support digital solutions alongside Agile delivery teams
- Help develop AI applications, virtual assistants, and intelligent automation
- Integrate cloud services and enterprise platforms using modern engineering practices
- Write and maintain secure, well-documented code and automation solutions
- Take part in proof-of-concept work, experimentation, and innovation projects
- Review business processes and find ways to improve employee experience, operational efficiency, and service delivery with automation and AI
- Help test, troubleshoot, monitor, and continuously improve solutions
- Apply engineering practices for DevOps, automation, AI governance, and software quality
- Share findings, prototypes, and recommendations with colleagues and stakeholders
Prasības
- Currently enrolled in a degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
- Experience with at least one programming language, such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript
- Exposure to AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform is an asset
- Knowledge of REST APIs is an asset
- Exposure to generative AI, large language models, prompt engineering, or AI development tools is a strong asset
- Familiarity with Agile or DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Git, or automation tools is an asset
- Curiosity and enthusiasm for technology, innovation, and continuous learning
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to learn new technologies and tools quickly
- Comfort working collaboratively in an Agile team
- Self-motivation and ability to take ownership of assigned work
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
