Senior Consultant, Procurement Transformation - Transportation and Logistics
CrossCountry Consulting is seeking a Senior Consultant to help transportation and logistics clients improve procurement. The role covers sourcing strategy, freight analysis, and data-led transformation planning.

- Advise clients as part of the Business Transformation practice
- Contribute to Procurement Transformation engagements covering Source-to-Pay technology strategy, purchasing improvements, operational performance, change management, program and project management, AI, and analytics
- Run strategic sourcing events by examining spend, shaping sourcing approaches, managing RFPs, assessing bids, developing business cases, and aligning stakeholders
- Contribute to and lead transportation sourcing projects, including carrier bids and freight market analysis
- Help clients optimize freight modes, lower fuel costs, evaluate insourcing and outsourcing options, and reduce logistics expenses
- Examine business challenges to strengthen procurement operations and their integration with finance and accounting
- Apply Source-to-Pay lifecycle expertise and established best practices
- Evaluate procurement operations and identify opportunities for transformational improvement
- Analyze third-party spending to uncover trends, risks, and potential savings
- Lead workstreams for assessments of procurement capabilities, processes, and operational maturity
- Translate procurement opportunities into prioritization models and transformation roadmaps
- Create data-supported business cases for transformation programs
- Monitor and escalate project issues, risks, and conflicts while recommending solutions
- Contribute to internal initiatives, thought leadership, and practice development
Reikalavimai
- At least three years of professional services consulting experience
- Experience at a Big Four or other top-tier consulting firm is preferred
- Strategic sourcing or procurement experience in an industry setting is strongly preferred
- Experience delivering transportation and logistics sourcing projects in consulting or industry, including one or more of FTL, LTL, intermodal, freight brokerage, or managed transportation services
- Understanding of transportation markets, carrier management, freight cost benchmarking, and bid process design and execution
- Knowledge of strategic sourcing, category management, contract management, procure-to-pay, item cost analysis, supply chain risk management, basic financial modeling, accounts payable, process optimization, change management, performance improvement, and project management
- Ability to lead moderately complex client workshops and presentations
- Basic client relationship management skills and an interest in supporting the sales process
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Lucid Software or Power BI is preferred
- Ability to evaluate and use firm-approved AI tools, including Claude, ChatGPT, and Copilot, responsibly
- Willingness to learn and apply emerging technologies such as AI and automation in accordance with firm policies and client standards
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- Supply chain, procurement, or logistics credentials or external certifications are preferred
