Senior Solutions Architect – Microsoft Azure and Databricks, Montreal Hybrid Contract
Senior architect responsible for designing Azure and Databricks solutions for a major financial and insurance organization. Provides team guidance and leads architecture decisions throughout the delivery lifecycle.

- Design and document solution architectures using Microsoft Azure and Databricks
- Establish target architectures and define technology direction
- Design the components, data flows, and integration mechanisms required for each solution
- Ensure proposed solutions follow organizational architecture standards and principles
- Assess business and technical needs and recommend suitable solutions
- Compare technology options and record architecture decisions
- Identify technical dependencies, constraints, and delivery risks
- Partner with development and data teams to support successful architecture implementation
- Provide architectural direction throughout the delivery lifecycle
- Join architecture reviews and maintain consistency across the broader technology ecosystem
- Present architectural direction clearly to technical and business stakeholders

- Substantial senior-level experience as a Solutions Architect in complex environments
- Advanced expertise in Microsoft Azure
- Proven expertise with the Databricks platform
- Databricks certification is required
- Background designing cloud and data architectures on Azure
- Ability to create end-to-end solutions that integrate Databricks with Azure
- Strong knowledge of data architecture, integration, and data processing principles
- Experience defining target architectures, patterns, and technical standards
- Ability to convert functional and non-functional requirements into technology solutions
- Experience assessing technology alternatives and documenting architecture decisions
- Experience working with developers, data engineers, architects, and business stakeholders
- Ability to guide and constructively challenge technical teams during design and implementation
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
- Strong autonomy and effectiveness in complex enterprise environments
- Experience in insurance, banking, or financial services
- Experience working in a large or highly regulated organization
- Experience with Azure and Databricks modernization or migration programs
- Experience working under strict security, governance, and data protection requirements
- French proficiency level
- Type of Canadian work permit held
