Huzzle.com is seeking a remote Bookkeeper in South Africa to maintain financial records, complete reconciliations, process invoices, and prepare reports for international client companies. The role also supports payroll activities and day-to-day finance operations using accounting software.

Maintain complete and current records of income, expenses, assets, and liabilities.
Enter and classify daily transactions in accounting software.
Complete regular bank, credit card, and account reconciliations.
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
Prepare and process invoices, payments, and expense reports.
Track unpaid invoices and support payment follow-up activities.
Keep financial documents and digital records organized.
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close procedures.
Produce basic profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow reports.
Provide support for payroll processing and associated record-keeping when needed.
Investigate discrepancies and help maintain accurate, compliant financial records.
Work remotely with clients, accountants, and internal team members.
Handle other finance and administrative responsibilities as assigned.

Prior experience as a Bookkeeper, Accounting Assistant, Finance Assistant, or in a comparable accounting position.
Working knowledge of bookkeeping and fundamental accounting principles.
Experience using QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or comparable accounting platforms.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.
Experience handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and bank reconciliations.
High attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy.
Effective organization and time-management abilities.
Ability to protect confidential financial information.
Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
Ability to work independently in a fully remote setting.
Reliable internet access and an appropriate home-office setup.
A formal qualification in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or a related discipline is preferred.
Experience working remotely with UK, US, Canadian, European, or Australian companies is preferred.
Familiarity with payroll, expense management, or financial reporting tools is preferred.
Experience supporting startups, agencies, or rapidly growing businesses is preferred.
