Paid Liahona Writer and Editor Intern – Salt Lake City Hybrid
Support Liahona magazine by writing and editing gospel-focused content for a global readership. The internship includes planning, research, interviews, proofreading, and manuscript evaluation with magazine staff.

- Collaborate with staff to plan and develop magazine content for readers worldwide
- Write, edit, conduct interviews, research topics, proofread copy, and assess manuscripts
- Create content for Liahona, published in 50 languages and produced initially in English
- Take on assignments aligned with your strengths, goals, and the magazine’s needs

- Be a full-time student at an accredited college or university, or have completed an accredited degree within one year before the internship begins
- Be available to participate in video conference interviews
- Have at least one semester of college-level writing or editing experience, such as work on a newspaper, literary journal, writing lab, or as a professor’s assistant
- Demonstrate strong writing, revision, copyediting, and proofreading abilities
- Have a sound understanding of Church doctrine, history, organization, and policy
- Manage multiple projects concurrently while meeting deadlines
- Maintain close attention to detail, sustained concentration, and a high degree of accuracy
- Work effectively with others and maintain a professional presence
- Have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ
- Be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy
- An emphasis in editing or writing and experience in print or digital journalism are preferred
- Familiarity with Chicago style and the Church Style Guide is helpful
- Submit a cover letter
- Submit a resume that includes a link to a digital portfolio
- Provide a digital portfolio containing editing and writing samples
- Include writing samples that demonstrate the ability to address specific audiences
- Provide a 40-word teaser inviting readers to follow a link to an article
- Ensure editing samples clearly display the edits made
- Portfolio review will assess writing and substantive editing skills; testing may also be required
