  • Build and maintain full stack applications using Python or Python and Java on the backend and JavaScript on the frontend.
  • Create responsive interfaces and connect them to backend services and APIs.
  • Develop scalable backend services, APIs, and application components.
  • Guide technical solutions from requirements analysis and architecture through implementation and deployment.
  • Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas, queries, functions, triggers, and views.
  • Use AI development tools and assisted coding workflows.
  • Investigate AI-based automation and new engineering approaches.
  • Create prototypes to test and validate technical ideas.
  • Contribute to technical planning, solution design, testing, code reviews, and architecture discussions.
  • Work with international, cross-functional teams to turn business needs into technical solutions.

  • Apply engineering best practices to produce clean, maintainable code using modern development standards.
  • Develop a banking application that serves as a cross-asset post-trade execution platform for a leading financial group in Japan.

  • Communicate effectively in English, in writing and conversation.
  • Bring at least five years of commercial software engineering experience.
  • Have strong commercial experience with Python.
  • Have practical JavaScript experience and frontend development experience with React, Vue.js, or Angular.
  • Understand full stack architecture, frontend and backend integration, REST APIs, and distributed systems.
  • Have strong PostgreSQL experience, including database design, query optimization, indexes, views, functions, and triggers.
  • Know object-oriented programming, software design principles, and clean coding practices.
  • Have hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar tools.
  • Bring an AI-first approach and openness to automation and emerging technologies.
  • Have experience with CI/CD, version control, and modern software development practices.
  • Be a capable problem solver who works independently and takes ownership.
  • Answer an EU citizenship question during the application process.
  • Preferred: experience in banking, fintech, or financial services; AWS or another cloud platform; Docker; Linux; TypeScript; microservices; event-driven systems; AI agents; or architectural decision-making.
