Vehicle Hardware Engineering Integration Intern

Support Ford Mexico vehicle hardware integration through CAD and BOM alignment, validation planning, and cross-functional issue resolution. Help coordinate design reviews and engineering deliverables for mobility programs.

Description

  • Coordinate engineering design reviews with vehicle program milestones by preparing cross-functional agendas, recording decisions, and updating issue roadmaps
  • Reconcile 3D CAD models with digital Bill of Materials data
  • Monitor packaging-clearance reports, component weight, and part-complexity targets
  • Support engineering teams in preparing Design Failure Mode and Effects Analyses
  • Monitor Design Verification test schedules and milestone deliverables
  • Contribute to structured issue resolution through root-cause analysis, roadblock removal, and documentation in standard tracking tools
  • Work with core engineering, styling, and program attribute teams
  • Help engineers maintain standard templates and workflows

Requirements

  • Be an active student in the final two semesters of Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Automotive, or a related engineering program
  • Demonstrate 90% proficiency in spoken, written, reading, and listening English
  • Bring strong analytical and interpersonal communication abilities
  • Understand systems engineering fundamentals and design thinking
  • Apply critical thinking and technical skills to investigate complex issues, analyze data, and support systematic root-cause solutions
  • Build constructive, inclusive relationships across diverse engineering, business, and design teams
  • Take initiative, organize competing priorities, follow through on deliverables, and adapt to changing conditions
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly in writing and conversation while working toward shared outcomes
