Build secure authentication experiences for CommBank’s digital banking channels, from React and Next.js interfaces to Node.js services. Guide scalable architecture across Node.js, React, Next.js and GraphQL.
Description
- Deliver end-to-end authentication features across React and Next.js interfaces and Node.js BFF services.
- Develop scalable BFF and API designs with REST and GraphQL.
- Turn broad requirements into system designs and production-ready implementations.
- Build secure token and session management, authentication state, and identity-platform integrations.
- Create resilient cloud-native services using distributed-systems and engineering practices.
- Promote maintainable code, automated tests, observability, CI/CD, and reliable production services.
- Work across engineering teams and channels to establish reusable integrations and consistent customer experiences.
- Mentor engineers and shape technical decisions while contributing hands-on.
- Help deliver customer authentication features such as login, multi-factor authentication, and passkeys.
Requirements
- Own technical delivery across the full stack, from design through implementation.
- Bring substantial experience with Node.js and JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Have experience designing and building backend services or Backend-for-Frontend services.
- Bring strong React skills and familiarity with or practical experience in Next.js.
- Demonstrate proficiency in system design.
- Have experience designing REST APIs.
- Understand cloud-native systems and distributed architectures.
- Know application security, authentication, or identity patterns.
- Handle sessions or tokens securely.
- Apply strong engineering practices in automated testing, CI/CD, observability, reliability, and maintainable code.
- Show curiosity about AI-assisted development and modern engineering tools.
