Senior Product Engineering Lead, Keet
Lead the API and frontend teams scaling Tether’s peer-to-peer Keet messaging and video-calling app. Guide product engineering toward serving a billion users worldwide.
Description
- Lead the API and frontend teams developing Keet features.
- Remove blockers, review work, and keep delivery on track.
- Set engineering standards for performance, reliability, and clear APIs.
- Own feature designs and the API boundary between Keet’s core and app.
- Coordinate engine-related design and code reviews with deep technology teams.
- Work with product managers to turn the roadmap into scoped, buildable work.
- Challenge unrealistic scope and recommend better approaches.
- Bring an engineering perspective to product decisions about peer-to-peer capabilities.
- Validate ideas with AI tools and rapid prototypes.
- Define team goals and success measures.
- Mentor team leads and improve how teams operate.
- Report to the CTO and take direction from product.
Requirements
- Experience managing engineers or engineering leads delivering consumer products, preferably chat, calling, or social apps.
- Strong product judgment.
- Intuition for distributed and local-first systems.
- Familiarity with offline-first design and eventual consistency.
- Deep knowledge of JavaScript and React.
- Initiative, curiosity, resilience, and comfort giving and receiving direct feedback.
- Bonus: experience with local-first apps, CRDTs, sync engines, offline-capable mobile or desktop apps, or open source.
- Ability to work remotely from an eligible country.
