Description

  • Lead design for a product area from initial discovery through launch.
  • Clarify user problems before developing solutions, and question requests that start with a predetermined solution.
  • Simplify complex workflows for district messaging, forms, payments, and permissions.
  • Work with UX Research, Customer Success, and Support to understand product use and run usability tests.
  • Create accessible, translation-ready experiences for different languages, including right-to-left languages, abilities, devices, and levels of technology comfort.
  • Contribute to and extend the design system.
  • Prepare designs for production, covering states, edge cases, responsive layouts, and native platform behavior.
  • Use AI tools to speed up prototyping and create AI-powered features that users can understand, review, control, and correct.
  • Explain and support design decisions in Design Crit and stakeholder discussions.
  • Collaborate with engineers during implementation and review.
  • Mentor fellow designers and help improve the team’s design craft.

Requirements

  • At least five years of product design experience.
  • Experience shipping complex web and native mobile products for iOS and Android.
  • A portfolio with two to three detailed case studies showing problem framing, decisions, and measured results.
  • Strong interaction design, information architecture, and visual design skills.
  • Proficiency with Figma, prototyping, and design systems.
  • Experience conducting usability tests and applying research and analytics to design decisions.
  • Practical experience with AI tools such as Claude, Cursor, or Figma Make.
  • Working knowledge of accessibility standards, including WCAG 2.2 AA.
  • Clear communicator who can influence product managers, engineers, and leadership.
