Senior Node.js Backend Systems Analyst (Remote)
Senior analyst responsible for developing Node.js APIs and microservices for Finnet’s financial management solutions. The role covers integrations, messaging, resilience, and production support.
Description
- Own backend solution improvements end to end, from understanding the problem through implementation, deployment, and production monitoring
- Build, enhance, and maintain applications, APIs, and services with Node.js as the primary technology
- Create and maintain REST APIs and integrations connecting internal and external systems
- Work with distributed systems, microservices, service-to-service communication, and messaging
- Help define and evolve solution architectures
- Apply Clean Code, Design Patterns, and software architecture principles
- Develop and maintain unit and integration tests
- Implement resilience patterns including Retry, Timeout, Circuit Breaker, and Fallback
- Investigate incidents, review logs, and diagnose application, integration, and database issues
- Determine root causes and recommend lasting solutions
- Work with relational databases by creating, reviewing, and analyzing SQL queries
- Support performance investigations and database troubleshooting
- Use Azure DevOps for version control, pull requests, and CI/CD pipelines
- Contribute to code reviews and technical discussions
- Evaluate solution impacts, risks, dependencies, effort, and complexity
- Monitor production applications and help resolve incidents
- Partner with Development, Product, Quality, Infrastructure, Security, and other teams
- Share expertise and support the team’s technical development
- Find opportunities for automation and continuous improvement
- Work with systems and services built in Python or Java when needed
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience or strong knowledge of backend development with Node.js
- Experience developing and consuming REST APIs
- Backend development with JavaScript and/or TypeScript
- Experience integrating systems
- Understanding of distributed architectures and microservices
- Experience with messaging and asynchronous processing
- Knowledge of relational databases and SQL
- Ability to analyze and diagnose application and database issues
- Experience writing unit and integration tests
- Proficiency with Git and version control
- Experience using Azure DevOps
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of Design Patterns, Clean Code, and software engineering best practices
- Experience implementing failure handling and resilience patterns such as Circuit Breaker, Retry, Timeout, and Fallback
- Understanding of application and API security concepts
- Experience troubleshooting applications and analyzing logs
