Senior Licensed Architect, Data Centers (Remote - U.S.)

Lead architectural delivery for hyperscale cloud and colocation data centers at AECOM, a global infrastructure consulting firm. Oversee multidisciplinary work from early design through construction closeout.

Description

  • Lead architectural design for large-scale hyperscale cloud and colocation data centers from concept through construction administration and closeout
  • Partner with engineering disciplines, construction teams, and external stakeholders to deliver coordinated design solutions
  • Prepare and review drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Verify compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client design guidelines
  • Coordinate activities with consultants, contractors, and permitting authorities
  • Provide architectural subject-matter expertise to hyperscale and colocation clients
  • Mentor and support junior architects and designers
  • Apply current data center design practices and industry trends
  • Contribute to business development, proposal preparation, and conceptual design work
  • Collaborate with AECOM teams worldwide on high-profile data center programs
  • Participate in occasional client meetings, major project milestones, onsite collaboration sessions, and other business-critical activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of relevant experience, or demonstrated equivalent experience and education
  • Proven experience delivering colocation and hyperscale data center projects
  • Knowledge of building codes, mission-critical infrastructure standards, and data center design requirements
  • Experience using BIM ACC (Revit), AutoCAD, and related design software
  • At least 5 years working with hyperscale client standards and colocation facility delivery models
  • Active U.S. architectural license
  • LEED accreditation or equivalent sustainable design credential
  • Experience working in fast-paced, globally distributed project environments
  • Extensive experience coordinating with permitting authorities and authorities having jurisdiction
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management capabilities
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary and geographically diverse teams
