Senior Java Backend Developer, Global Insights
Build data platforms for a global insights and strategy firm as a senior Java backend developer. Develop APIs, AI and LLM solutions, scalable systems, and data visualization features.
Description
- Manage market data across multiple industries
- Build, transform, and serve data through a developing platform
- Design, build, improve, and support products and features
- Apply and assess AI and LLM solutions to address business needs and improve processes
- Work with engineers on technical architecture and complex challenges
- Follow software development lifecycle and documentation practices
- Produce sound designs, write unit tests, automate where appropriate, and review code
- Work across the organization to understand initiatives, assess needs, and recommend solutions
- Meet performance, reliability, quality, security, and testability standards for high-traffic, highly available systems
- Learn and use new technologies to improve applications
- Build scalable data visualization solutions
Requirements
- At least 5 years of Java experience
- At least 1 year each of JavaScript and React experience
- At least 3 years of SQL experience, ideally with PostgreSQL or Redshift
- Knowledge of algorithms, data structures, object-oriented programming, and performance optimization
- Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and backend services
- Experience writing and maintaining automated unit tests
- Experience with product experiments, A/B testing, and business metrics or KPIs
- Experience working with cross-functional product teams
- Ability to design, build, improve, and support products and features
- Preferred: Spring Boot experience
- Preferred: experience with Python, C#, Go, C++, or C
- Preferred: experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, or Redshift
- Preferred: Docker and Kubernetes experience
- Preferred: AI, machine learning, and LLM experience, including deep learning, NLP, data preprocessing, and tokenization
- Preferred: data visualization experience
